Future skills for New Zealand

Future Ready Summit 2019

Nick took time out at the ATEED Future Ready Summit 2019 to share his thoughts on what skills every Aucklander (and beyond) should be looking to develop now to prepare themselves for the future.

The four skills

  1. A growth mindset. Understand that you can be so much more than you believe you are right now.
  2. Curiosity. Relentlessly ask questions about everything around you. How do things work? Why do they work that way? How might I learn things differently?
  3. Proactivity. Don't wait for someone to help you or give you the answer. Go and seek it. Be hungry.
  4. Connections. Make as many as you physically can. There are no good or bad connections, just connections. And if they can't help you, look for ways you can help them.
